Product ingredients:
Samba Gothumai Ravai
Usage instructions:
Roast the Gothumai Ravai (broken wheat) for about a minute or two until it becomes slightly golden. Set aside.
Tempering:
Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add urad dal and chana dal. Sauté until they turn golden brown.
Add chopped green chillies, grated ginger, and curry leaves. Stir-fry for a minute, releasing the aromas of the spices.
Cooking the Mixture:
Add turmeric powder and salt to the tempering. Then add the roasted rava to the pan. Stir to combine everything well.
Pour in water (approximately 2.5 to 3 cups, depending on how soft or dry you prefer the dish). Bring it to a boil.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it cook for 12-15 minutes, or until the grains are cooked and the water is absorbed. If needed, add a little more water during cooking to achieve the desired consistency.
Product highlight:
Samba Gothumai Ravai can be prepared in both sweet and savory forms, but the savory preparation is more common for breakfast or as a light meal.
