Sambar Masala is a flavorful spice mix used to prepare Sambar, a popular South Indian dish made from lentils, vegetables, and tamarind, commonly served with rice or idli. The masala adds a distinct, aromatic, and slightly tangy taste to the sambar.
Storage: Store the freshly ground Sambar Masala in an airtight container. It can be kept for up to 2-3 weeks.
How to Use Sambar Masala: To make Sambar: Add 1-2 tablespoons of the homemade Sambar Masala to the cooked dal (lentils), tamarind extract, and vegetables while preparing the sambar.
Enhance the flavor: You can also add a pinch of this masala to tempering (seasoning) to enhance the flavor of your sambar, rasam, or other South Indian dishes.
