Description
Coconut oil is a natural, edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm tree (Cocos nucifera). It is widely used in cooking, skincare, haircare, and medicinal applications.
Appearance: Solid at room temperature in cooler climates but melts into a clear liquid at approximately 76°F (24°C).
Color: White when solid, transparent when liquid.
Aroma: Has a distinct, mild coconut fragrance unless refined, which may make it odorless.
Types: Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO): Extracted from fresh coconut meat without the use of heat or chemicals, preserving its natural aroma, flavor, and nutrients.
Refined Coconut Oil: Processed and deodorized, resulting in a neutral flavor and scent.
Fractionated Coconut Oil: A liquid form of coconut oil where long-chain fatty acids are removed, leaving only medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs).
