Kaeluvaragu Maavu – Care Tips

1. Storage:

Store in an airtight container to prevent exposure to moisture and insects.

Keep in a cool, dry, and dark place, preferably in a kitchen cupboard.

For long-term storage, refrigeration is recommended, especially in humid climates.

2. Shelf Life:

At room temperature: 1–2 months

In the refrigerator: up to 6 months

Always check for rancid smell or change in texture before use.

3. Handling:

Use a clean, dry spoon every time to scoop the flour.

Keep away from water or wet surfaces to avoid lumping and fungal growth.

4. Pest Prevention:

You can place bay leaves or dry neem leaves inside the container to repel insects.

Alternatively, store flour in a sealed zip-lock bag inside a steel or glass container.

5. Homemade Flour Tip:

If preparing at home, ensure the ragi is cleaned, sun-dried properly, and ground in a hygienic place.

Sieve the flour after grinding to get a fine, even texture.
