Mapillai Samba Rice is an ancient and traditional variety of rice grown mainly in Tamil Nadu, India. It's known for its reddish-brown color, high nutritional value, and historical use in boosting stamina and strength—especially for newlyweds, hence the name “Mapillai” (bridegroom).

🌱 Care Tips (Storage and Cooking)

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place

Use airtight containers to prevent pest infestation

Can be stored up to 6 months if kept dry


Cooking Instructions:

1. Soak the rice for 6–8 hours (improves texture and reduces cooking time)


2. Cook with a ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 (rice:water) depending on the method


3. Pressure cook for 4–5 whistles or cook in an open pot for 30–40 minutes


4. Best used in: Idli, Dosa, Porridge (Kanji), and variety rice dishes
