Description
Bamboo Rice (also known as Moongil Arisi in Tamil) is a rare variety of rice harvested from the seeds of flowering bamboo. Unlike regular rice, bamboo rice is collected only once in the lifetime of a bamboo plant—after it flowers, which typically happens once in 40–60 years. It is known for its unique greenish hue, chewy texture, and nutty, slightly sweet taste.
