Araikkal Izhuppai Poo Samba is a traditional, heritage rice variety native to Tamil Nadu, India. It gets its name from the Izhuppai (Iluppai) flower, known for its light fragrance, which the rice subtly resembles in aroma.

This variety is typically grown during the Samba season (a long-duration paddy season from August to January), hence the name “Samba.” It’s a medium-grain rice with a slightly reddish or brownish hue, depending on how it's processed (parboiled, raw, or semi-polished).

Usage Instructions: 

Washing: Wash the rice thoroughly to remove any impurities and excess starch. 

Cooking Ratio: Use 2 to 2.5 cups of water for every 1 cup of Eluppai Poo Samba rice, depending on the desired consistency. For softer rice, use more water.
